What a wonderful week! My dad has been in town visiting and it's been SUCH a joy having him here. He leaves tomorrow morning and so does Ben, who is flying down to GA with him and then heading to the Masters, so I have my first solo weekend with Charlie Mae this weekend...eek! Wish me luck ;)
How was your week? I hope it was lovely and full of simple, sensory joys. Here are some of the things that made me smile over the past 7 days... HEAR: Ukelele Music When I was super pregnant with Charlie Mae, my dad came to visit and before he came, ordered a ukelele to be sent to our house so that he'd have an instrument to play for the baby in my belly while visiting (so sweet and also such a hippy). Because of that, we now have a ukelele at our house that my dad plays whenever he comes to visit and it's great. He's been making up songs for Charlie Mae all week and she is LOVING it, as am I. It's really fun to have live music in the house all the time and the ukelele really is a beautiful-sounding instrument. SEE: My dad + Charlie Mae together Not to go on and on about this, but it's been extremely sweet to see my dad and Charlie Mae bond over the course of the week. They're the best of friends and he even took her swim class with her on Wednesday! So heart-warming-- there's nothing like seeing your own parents love on your baby. TASTE: A glass of Red Wine As I mentioned last week, I've been scared to do much wine drinking since having Charlie Mae because she is breastfed, won't take a bottle, and eats pretty often. But, as she's gotten into a more regular nighttime eating pattern lately, I've come to realize that having a small glass of wine after she goes to bed (and then doesn't eat again for 7 or 8 hours) is doable if I want to. I enjoyed my first glass of red wine after she went to bed this week and wow, was it delicious. SMELL: Worcestershire Sauce I know this sounds weird, but Ben has been using Worcestershire Sauce as a flavoring in more of his cooking lately and it is REALLY tasty. When I come in the door from teaching and he's making dinner, the aroma of this sauce smells incredible. I'm also grateful for a husband who cooks all of our dinners, of course (and is so good at it!). TOUCH: Dry Shampoo Lately, I've rediscovered that dry shampoo can be a busy/frazzled girl's best friend. I don't have a specific brand preference here--I'll use whatever I can get my hands on--but man, is it great to freshen up your hair without having to take a shower (don't get me wrong, I love showers, but just don't always have time for one these days). Yay for inventions like this one! So there you go; another week full of simple joys has flown by... Also, don't forget that my new yoga tanks are available for pre-order through Monday! I will not be ordering many extras to keep in stock, so if you want to ensure you get the size and style you want, be sure to place your order over the next few days. Thanks to everyone who has already ordered :) Have a wonderful weekend!

It's pricey, but Living Proof has changed my dry shampoo game - It's the best! Even when I'm regularly working out/sweating, it helps me go 3-4 days between shampoos. Comments are closed.
