It's Friday! That means it's time to share my list of the simple, sensory experiences that have brought me happiness this past week. What's on your list? ![]() Hear: Folding Chair by Regina Spektor Such a fun, springy, summery song from Regina Spektor's album Far. When I listen to it, it makes me feel so happy and carefree :) My favorite line: "I've got a perfect body, but sometimes I forget, I've got a perfect body, because my eyelashes catch my sweat." She is so wacky and I love it! Such a quirky, talented, creative individual (with an AMAZING voice). Listen to the song below! ![]() Taste: Fresh Pink Grapefruit!!! Ever since my trip to the mountains, I can't get enough pink grapefruit. Seriously, I've been eating them with breakfast, as snacks, with lunch, and as dessert after dinner. I've been buying the large, pink grapefruits at Whole Foods, just peeling them with my hands, and then eating them once slice at a time. They are SO juicy and delicious! Makes me feel like summer is on the way :) ![]() See: November 201 Rolling Stone Cover My Dad picked up this magazine for me, so that I could read the well-written article about Eminem inside (which was a great article). What he didn't know is how much I would LOVE the cover. Isn't is jaw-dropping? I think it perfectly captures the essence of the new, clean, clear, and yet, still haunted Eminem. Although it's an old cover, I just got it, so it feels new to me (and that's why I'm blogging about it now!). It's hanging on a magnetic board in our kitchen, along with family photos and other appealing images, so that I can look at it every day :) ![]() Touch: Threads 4 Thought I first ran into this brand at Whole Foods, and decided to pick up a t-shirt when they were selling them for $10 each on sale. I've since gone back for 3 more, and have fallen in love with this sustainable apparel clothing line. Their clothes are made of organic cotton and polyester recycled from plastic water bottles (amazing!), and they donate a portion of their proceeds to charity. Plus, right now they're donating 25% of all proceeds to the relief efforts in Japan, and are offering a 10% discount on all purchases to encourage people to buy. Such a wonderful, socially conscious business with a GREAT product! Buy here and use the code "RELIEF." ![]() Smell: Neti Pot I know, so far I've failed on smell every single week, because my pick for this sense never *quite* fits. But, I feel like this one is okay, since you use the Neti Pot on your nose/sinuses, and basically, I just want to share this: my Neti Pot has changed my life. As someone who has basically lived with sinus infections my entire life, this is the one thing that has actually kept me off of antibiotics over the past year or so. You just fill it with warm, distilled water, add a "sinus rinse" packet, and pour into one side of your nose. It goes through the sinuses, clearing everything out (no idea what it really does, but it works!), and then comes out the other side of your nose. It freaks some people out (BEN!), but if you can get used to using it, it really is a miracle-worker. I use mine once or twice per day, depending on how I'm feeling. Share: What has brought you simple, sensory joy this week? Namaste! Mary Catherine PS. Happy April Fools Day! No jokes here (I PROMISE...the Neti pot love is real!), but though I should still acknowldges this holiday (holiday?). Comments are closed.
