Hello from DC! I'm so excited to be here and can't wait to see many of you at my workshops this weekend. This week's edition of SJOTW will be quick so that I can get out there and enjoy my time visiting with friends... How was your week? I hope it was FULL of simple pleasures. Here's what brought me joy: HEAR: "Before We Lose Our Minds" by The Hip Abduction Another not-your-typical yoga class song that I've loved hearing in my classes this month! I added it to my April playlist and I've been loving the energy of this song when it plays while I'm teaching; you can listen below: SEE: DC friends I think this is obvious, but although I just got in yesterday afternoon, it's been so great seeing some of my DC peeps already! I got pretty sick on the plane ride here--motion sickness has always been an issue and now that I'm pregnant it's my *biggest* nemesis--but the bumpy ride was totally worth it to reconnect with loved ones. TASTE: Delicious dinner at Sette Osteria (in DC) last night Oh my, I didn't realize how much I've missed the young, vibrant, exciting energy of DC...last night I went to dinner with some friends on 14th street (for those who live here) and it was so great to be back in the thick of things. Plus, we had a delicious pizza, gnocchi, and salad-filled meal. Yum! SMELL: Homemade blueberry muffins baking in the oven Sara (yes, Starr Struck's Sara) made us blueberry muffins this morning and they were super tasty! Of course they were made using the recipe that we shared on Simply Sugarless last month, and I was so glad to try them IRL. And that smell... TOUCH: More sweet baby things :) I'm sorry but I just can't help it--there's nothing more exciting right now than holding (and holding up) sweet, soft, cuddly baby clothing + blankets. This week one of my students gifted me with a bunch of amazing hand-knitted baby items (sweater, booties, hat, blankets, etc.) and I couldn't stop looking at them and rubbing them against my skin. We also got our crib sheet set in the mail and I'm in love. Each little item that we receive makes it that much more real. {Wowee!} OTHER SJOTW? Watching The People vs. OJ Simpson last weekend (we're into it!), getting back to podcasting (Season #3 started this week in case you missed it!), priming the nursery so we can paint it when I get back in town, and of course, long walks in the springtime sun with Sayde. And there you go! Hope you can find some time to reflect on your simple, sensory joys of the week today, too... Have a wonderful weekend! Comments are closed.
