I am totally honored to have been featured in an article that came out on my dear Centre College's website late last week, while I was away on my trip. Centre posted this article about my experience teaching yoga and painting in DC over the past few years, and I couldn't be more excited to be able to share my story with the entire Centre community--and especially with the current students. I am quoted as saying this in the article, but I think it's worth repeating here:
I credit my experience at Centre for giving me the confidence to devote time and energy to creative endeavors and to my passions, instead of just pushing me towards a specific career path. I think liberal arts schools like Centre teach their students that they don't have to take the traditional path, but instead, should study what they love and become a well-rounded person--and that if you do so, you can succeed in any path you decide to take. I think it's so important to remember that you don't need to become a doctor or a lawyer, or get a higher degree to be happy or to feel like you're doing something worthwhile--in my opinion, if you do what you love and pursue your passions, you'll end up contributing a lot more to the world than you would otherwise. You can read the entire article on Centre's website, here. You can also read a post about my most recent visit to my beloved Centre (last year! Sigh...) here. Yay for AMAZING schools and thanks to Centre & Elizabeth Trollinger for featuring me! Namaste, Mary Catherine Comments are closed.
