{Missing the guy above already...sigh.} Places we visited--all of which I would highly recommend:
Hardest/Saddest parts of the trip [Because Peru is a "developing country," I can't talk about the trip without mentioning these things, even though I loved the trip and the country]:
Thanks for your patience while I took a blogging break! I was really able to let go of everything back at home and just BE in Peru while I was traveling, which was such a gift. I'm refreshed ;) What. A. Trip. I mean, wow. Have you been to Peru? If so, you know what I mean when I say that my trip there was life- changing. If not, you must add it to your list of places to visit someday. Because words cannot really capture or explain how special this trip was--and because I know that reading travelogues can become quite tedious and uninteresting--today I'm sharing the highlights of my experience through two of my fave methods: pictures + lists... What I loved the most:

I agree with you 100% - Peru is a must-add to any bucket list. And 16,000 feet?! Amazing! I remember how slowly I moved in Cusco, so I tip my hat to you for that. Glad you had a great trip!

Thanks, Sarah! I know, we moved super slow in Cusco the first few days, too! You should see my brother--he scampers up the mountains like it's nothing. So cool to see how the body can adjust! xoxo

Haha, OMG, Andrea, that's horrible (but also a bit funny now!). Poor guy. The altitude there is NO joke! xoxo

Welcome home!!! So glad you loved it. I knew you would. I still dream of my hike to Machu Pichu often. Indeed it IS a wonder of the world. I mean how did they get those rocks up there? And the boulders. Seriously. Your list of sad things is soooo true too. The dogs was one of the hardest parts for me too, and also the poor dental hygiene..for someone who loves to brush her teeth, I'm shocked you didn't mention it. It's like even the young kids who were under ten looked older due to poor hygiene and golden or missing teeth. Developing Peru is...but beautiful none the less. Happy return to USA soil. Give Sayde many hugs!!! Xoxo lovely post and pics!

Our guide told us that they may have used their spiritual connection to nature to "herd" the rocks into place, as you would sheep or cows... ;) But yes, very amazing no matter how they did it!!! You're right about the dental hygiene, such a stark contrast to our country and feels like such a relatively easy thing to fix {Although I know it's not}. Sigh. Thanks for sharing! xoxo Comments are closed.
