As you know, we've had a lot of guests lately. A lot. Over the past month or so, Sayde has met a big new group of family members and friends--some who have stayed with us, others who have just come over for a get-together or dinner--and it's been a lot for this little rescue pup who is scared of strangers (and is crazy territorial). That being said, she's done a great job warming up to all of these new peeps (except for the time when she bit my dad right after she met him...whoops!), and we couldn't be more proud of how far she's come, even if she does still have REALLY far to go before she becomes a "normal," friendly dog. [It's like the time Ben told me the following: "I'm not saying you're perfect, because you have A LOT of things wrong with you, but you're perfect for me." Romantic, that one.] However, despite her issues, it's been really special for us to watch her befriend and eventually love the people that come to stay with us. When my friends left on Friday, she barked after them as they walked towards the bus, and it was a "Come back! Don't leave me!" bark that simply melted my heart. Similarly, after our various guests have been in town for a couple of days, we notice that she starts to go up and see them in bed in the morning--and sometimes even snuggle with them!--which is very adorable. Although we've had her for almost 7 months now, we still wake up every day incredibly grateful for our little dog-child, and fall more and more in love with her every day. Here are a few more pics of our little girl from the past few weeks (descriptions below): 1. My friend Jessica snapped this pic while Sayde rested on her chest one morning in bed. It made me SO happy!
2. Ben and Sayde snuggle in a slightly awkward position. She's one of the most snuggly dogs I've ever met. 3. This is basically the scene that takes place in our house EVERY single time that we come home after being gone for a few hours. Hugs and kisses for everyone! 4. Sayde fell asleep with her head in my dad's hand. Can you stand it!? LOVE. THIS. DOG. Adopting her was one of the best things we've ever done. I cannot recommend it enough! Comments are closed.
