I may be biased, but I think custom art makes the best wedding + engagement gifts...I'm sure I've told you this before, but two of my close friends gave me a painting of my wedding dress as a wedding gift and it's one of my favorite pieces of art in our home (and definitely one of the most memorable gifts I received). So, when I get approached to do a piece of custom art for a newly engaged or married couple, I'm always beyond thrilled. Since spring wedding season is almost here [already here?], I've had a lot of these types of requests lately. A few of these special gifts have still not been given, so I can't share them *quite* yet, but here are the pieces that have been gifted and are no longer a secret. Above and below you'll find my newest variation on the "couple sketch," the full-body version: The top drawing was obviously a wedding gift for Roxy and Ashton (I framed and matted it before shipping it off) and the bottom one was an engagement gift, clearly depicting the moment Lisa and Joe got engaged. So sweet, right!? While this final piece (below) is not an ink drawing like the other two, I figured I could sneak it into today's post since it's also wedding-related ;) This painting was commissioned as a gift from one family member to another after her recent wedding. The commissioner gave me a black + white image from the wedding, which I rendered in watercolor... Aren't weddings + engagements the best? This hopeless romantic will never get sick of celebrating love, couples, and relationships ;)
