Our friends Brian and Shannon were married last night and had an amazingly gorgeous, fun, romantic Cape Cod wedding. I'll write more about the wedding later on, but in the meantime thought I should share one of my favorite love poems in honor of the happy couple. I'm a hopeless romantic--I cried (well, got teary-eyed) about 100000 times at their wedding yesterday--so it's only fitting that I share a hopelessly romantic poem this week, as well. Read on for an amazingly sweet poem by Elizabeth Barrett Browning: How Do I love Thee?
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight For the ends of Being and ideal Grace. I love thee to the level of every day's Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight. I love thee freely, as men strive for Right; I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise. I love with a passion put to use In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith. I love thee with a love I seemed to lose With my lost saints, -- I love thee with the breath, Smiles, tears, of all my life! -- and, if God choose, I shall but love thee better after death. Very heavy with emotion, no? What can I say? I'm a glutton for true, deep, all-encompassing love :) Congrats to our newly-wedded friends! Namaste, Mary Catherine Comments are closed.
