So it feels like it's been FOREVER since my last painting update. That's probably because I haven't been able to paint much lately, due to my travels and hectic spring/summer schedule, but last week I was finally able to get back into the studio, and it was AMAZING! I'm already looking forward to my painting day this week, as I've started a fun new painting (will share pictures in my next update!) and feel very energized by my time away. For now, I wanted to post the two paintings that I decided I "finished" last week. As I've mentioned before, it's always very hard for me to decide when a painting is done (I feel like there is always something that can be done to make it better), so sometimes, for my own sanity, I just decide that it's time to move on. You've seen both of these paintings before, but here are the "finished" products! Painting #1: Forearm Stand (Pincha Mayurasana) Painting #2: Wheel (Urdhva Dhanurasana) I've added these finalized paintings (plus the two studies from my last painting post) to my painting website, here. I also had time to work on the never-ending "Portrait of Ben (made of inanimate objects)" painting last week--a painting that I've been working on a over the past 4-5 months or so. Because I've been so into my yoga pose paintings, I've just kind of used this painting as a break whenever I needed to take some time away from painting bodies. I'm nearing being finished with it, but am not done quite yet. A shot of the latest version of this painting (and a detail of the shoes) is below... So that's where I left off last week! I look forward to getting back in there this week, and promise to post some pics of my new painting after this Thursday :) Namaste, Mary Catherine Comments are closed.
