There are a lot of things I love about the holidays. In addition to the obvious, like spending time with loved ones, Christmas music, delicious food, sweet family traditions, and festive decorations, I also love things like sending + receiving family holiday cards and creating special, personalized surprise gifts for my loved ones--especially Ben ;)
This year, courtesy of Staples Copy & Print's website, I was able to do both of these things from home: create 3 custom holidays gifts for Ben (a sweatshirt, a t-shirt, and a custom mug!) AND create our holiday greeting cards. It was *super* easy to pull together and order all of these custom items, and I loved receiving them in the mail over the past couple of weeks; they turned out fabulous! Here's what I created with Staples Copy & Print this holiday season and how I created it... 1. Custom Sayde Shirts for Ben: Of course, there's a backstory to these two gifts; when I printed all of my rescue dog tanks and tops a few months ago, Ben was really jealous. He kept asking if I was going to do a male version of the shirt for him, or if he could at least get his own shirt with Sayde's outline on it. Although I couldn't do it through my bulk shirt printer (it would be way too expensive and didn't make sense for just 1 shirt!), I was able to do it as a surprise through Staples Copy & Print. How? I just uploaded an image of my Sayde drawing to their system, picked out the shirts I wanted, approved the placement of the design, and voila! A few weeks later, both shirts arrived at my door. Note: Ben's nickname for Sayde is "Littles," so I added that name to the t-shirt version of the design ;)
2. Custom Sayde Mug for Ben: You can never have too many customized dog items! You know I'm not joking about this ;) Plus, Ben and I collect big mugs (er, I collect them and he uses them?), so when I saw that Staples Copy & Print had a customizable large mug, I had to go for that, too--again, in the "Littles" design.
I'm so happy with how it turned out! You can see a screenshot of the order process and then the in-person mug below:
3. Custom Holiday Greeting Cards: Although I've wanted to do holiday cards every year Ben and I have been married, this is the first year I got around to actually doing it, and the main reason that I did is because Staples Copy & Print made it SO easy that I didn't have to do much [any?] pre-planning or thinking to make it happen.
I simply picked out a pretty template (pre-made by Staples), uploaded the pic of our little family the day we bought our house, added a little personalized note on the back, and clicked the "buy" button! Easy peasy. The cards arrived shortly thereafter and I'm in the process of addressing, stamping, and sending them out now...
