I've been reading the following passage [from Cheri Huber's book, The Key] in my classes this week, and it's really been speaking to me: The odds of anyone ever getting all or even most of what she/he wants at any given time are very slim. There are always irresponsible, late, rude, inept, uncooperative people; a lack of parking places, appointments, money, promotions, weekends, dates, affection; an excess of criticism, judgments, things spilled on clothes, unexpected guests, red lights... We have no choice about what we get. We have absolute choice about what we do. When we are trying to get what we want out of life, life can be very hard. When we learn to want what we get in our lives, life can be very easy. Learn to want what we get? Meaning, total acceptance of what happens in our lives? Easier said than done, but something we can all work towards and get behind, I think...
That's all for today--just wanted to share this thought with you. Mat Matters will be back next week. If you're jonesing for a video, feel free to check out this recent "Detoxifying Yoga Poses" video that I made for the participants of Shayna Mahoney's 2015 Winter Detox. Here's to a day full of acceptance!

This *perfectly" aligns with our current mercury in retrograde time of the year when everything feels a little out of whack. Thank you for this wonderful quote and timely reminder. Miss you, MC! XO

Wonderful insight, Mary Catherine. If we can all leaqrn to want what we already have, life will be simpler, easier, and less complicated. There are things that we cannot change, and these things should be accepted and worked around in, instead of being fought against. Comments are closed.
