Hello from the wedding crafting den! I've spent almost the entire weekend working on wedding to-dos--with a few breaks for yoga, CrossFit, sleep, and meals--and am feeling very productive and crafty. So, I thought that while I'm on a roll, I should take a quick break to show you what I've been working on... 1. Grey Burlap Table Squares Originally, I was going to do grey burlap table runners, so I bought a sample swatch of grey burlap. The sample arrived last week, so on Friday night I sat down to cut a test runner. When I realized that I had no idea what I was doing, I went online to do some research. After looking at tons of images and thinking about it a bit more, I decided to go with "table squares," instead, since my tables are mostly circular. They will go in the middle of each table, highlighting the centerpiece arrangements--and I think they'll be really pretty! Inspirational Images: What I've done so far: -Laid out and measured the fabric -Cut out (6) 2' x 2' squares--I'm waiting on the rest of my fabric before I can finish So simple! I'm thinking I'm going to leave the edges raw, to give it a more rustic look... 2. Seating Card Tree (made with Hand-Dyed Tags) After falling in love with these hand-dyed tags, I decided to make a Seating Card Tree for the wedding. Although I haven't bought/found the branches yet, I did work on putting together the cards this weekend... Inspirational Images: What I've done so far: -Purchased and received the tags (this counts in the grand scheme of wedding planning to-dos!) -Added a ribbon hanger to each tag -Stamped each tag with an imitation vintage postal stamp using grey ink (love these!) I'll wait until closer to the wedding to stamp the table numbers and names...I can't get too far ahead of myself here ;) 3. Addressing/Calligraphy-ing Invitations Ever since I got a calligraphy set when I was a child, I've done my own calligraphy for everything. I don't claim to be amazing at it, and I know that someone else could do a much better job, but I just can't bring myself to pay someone tons of money for something that I can do. So, I addressed almost all of our invites this weekend. Two in-progress pics are below: We also made a list of "must-play" songs for the DJ (I am SO excited!), decided on the special songs for the designated dances, and finalized the readings and ceremony with our officiant. Phew! At least I truly enjoy this kind of stuff... ;) I hope you've had an equally creative, enjoyable, relaxing, and productive weekend! Namaste, Mary Catherine
