Before we delve into Episode 32 of Mat Matters, I have to give a shout-out to my inspiration for this week's episode, Petra Ledkovsky, one of my fave teachers here on the Cape and also the owner of one of the studios where I teach, Orleans Yoga + Pilates (where this video was taped!). As I explain in the video, I learned about the Yoga Blanket Belly Roll from Petra, and I think it's a game changer. I'm convinced it is, and I think you'll at least be intrigued, as well. So, instead of going off on a tangent about it here, I'll let the video do the explaining. Three cheers for one simple pose that can help relieve back pain, SI joint pain, stimulate the circulatory and digestive systems, and provide relaxation ALL at the same time! Oh, and btw, I don't think that "Yoga Blanket Belly Roll" is the official name for this pose, but it's what I'm going with. I saw lots of different names out there on the internet, but this one makes the most sense to me... ;) Enjoy!

This was just what I needed today! I have started doing crossfit (at home) with my husband, and yesterday's dead lifts were a bit much for my lower back. I tried this as well as a few other poses this morning, and I am already feeling some relief. Thank you!!
