Three cheers for arm balances! Hip, hip, hooray! As you probably know by now, I love 'em. They're just so fun, so challenging, and so rewarding! For me, there's just something about balancing on your own two arms, flying through the air using just the strength of your own body, your core, your shoulders. The brief feeling of "weightlessness" that you can achieve when arm balancing is really empowering and makes you [me] feel like you [I] can do anything. So, today we discuss Reverse Koundinyasana--one of my favorite arm balances and one that I love to teach. {Btw, you'll be amazed to know that Sayde slept on the couch next to me the entire time that I taped this video! She didn't try to interrupt once! Can you believe it? SO different from my experience a few weeks ago...} Oh, and near the end of the video, I mention (and demonstrate in a rather wobbly fashion) that you can come into this pose from Parsva Bakasana (Side Crow). If you're still working on that pose, here's a video breaking it down. Now go, fly like an eagle! Comments are closed.
