I have such love for this little arm balance! I don't know why, but it makes me really happy. It might be due to the fact that its one of the few arm balances where my larger-than-average booty doesn't interfere (and maybe even helps?), or maybe it's because there's no threat of falling forward on my face in this pose--but either way, I love it ;) So, today, we talk about bhujapidasana and break it down into stages. If you've never worked with this pose, I hope you'll give it a try, and if it's old hat to you, maybe play with some of the deeper variations that I mention at the end of this video... Oh, and please know that there is NO shame in doing a little butt buster in this pose (falling back and landing on your behind). That's part of learning and trying it! If you have a bony bottom, you can place a blanket or two behind you on the mat, but really, doing a little splat or two is a part of this pose ;) I always love teaching bhujapidasana in class, as watching student after student fall backwards--often with a sheepish grin on their faces--and then get right back up and try again is super inspiring. That's what it's all about, peeps! Enjoy the video (and my new BFF, our Christmas Tree!)! You can watch here or on my YouTube Channel. PS. For all my fellow YouTube lovers, check out The Second Annual Tube-A-Thon Holiday Livestream tonight! It's a fabulous "digital charity event" benefitting Covenant House and hosted by What's Trending and Fiesta Movement. It will take place here, TONIGHT, at 9pm EST, and will feature lots of fun YouTube stars (how fabulous that we have YouTube stars now?). Oh, and guess who is performing? Pentatonix! My fave Sing Off group EVER. Yay :)
