I'm guess I'm on some sort of crow transition kick right now. Last week we discussed crow to chaturanga, and this week we're discussing crow to tripod headstand. But, I hope you'll stay with me, even if you're not a big fan of crow pose, as I promise to move on and discuss something that doesn't involve crow next week ;) I think I'm on this kick because there's just something really powerful about transitions from one balancing pose to the another (especially arm balances), and starting with crow is usually the easiest way to start playing with these types of transitions. When I move from crow to tripod headstand with control (it's not always a smooth or controlled transition!), I feel centered, stronger than ever, and focused--one with my body. If you haven't experienced that feeling in your practice yet, I want you to, and thus, today's video. As always, be very mindful when working with this transition, and be sure to warm up really well before playing with it! I recommend doing some sun salutations, core work, and a bit of shoulder opening before jumping in. You can watch all of my Mat Matters videos by subscribing to my YouTube channel. As always, if you have any requests for upcoming videos, please let me know! [Oh, and BTW, I realized that I have some audio/volume issues with these videos. I'm working on it! I hope next week's video will be a bit cleaner...]

Yes, it is a pig! It says "Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu" below it--I love it! It's from Tranquil Space's boutique :) Comments are closed.
