As you probably know by now, I like a wide variety of art--really, whatever catches my eye goes straight onto the blog--there's no rhyme or reason to why I choose certain work to share, except that I love it. Today's two artists are no different. I came across each of them on various creative blogs/websites, and although their work is very different from one another, I find each to be a bit girly and ethereal in a different way. Peruse these two inspiring artists' work below... Artist #1: Janet Hill I TOTALLY adore all of Janet Hill's work. It has a very vintage, feminine feel, and it's obvious that Hill is an extremely talented painter. Her subject matter is simple, but the way that she has rendered her subjects is not. I may have to buy one of her pieces one of these days...they're just too fun not to have one in your home! Visit her portfolio here, her blog here, and her etsy shop (where you can buy cheap prints of her work!) here. Love it! Artist #2: Maia Flore Flore is a French artist who I find quite mysterious. She's primarily a photographer and the works below are c-prints on aluminum--meaning they were originally photographs (presumably altered digitally)--that were then printed on aluminum using chromogenic materials and processes (don't ask me!?!). Anyways, I think her work has a beautiful, dreamlike-quality and I would love to chat with her about how she creates them/comes up with her inspiration. View more of her interesting work on her website, here, and check out a few of my favorites below... Doesn't it make you want to just float away in a dream-world? Just a little creative inspiration as I prepare my paintings and art supplies for a creative few days away at Squam (details coming tomorrow!). I'm getting excited :) Have a delightful day!
