As you probably know by now, there's nothing I love more than coming across the work of inspiring, quirky artists doing something new. So, I was blown away and totally tickled when I came across the work of these two photographers. Although they have no connection to each other and I found them each through a different site, they're both doing (or have done) something similarly fanciful, fun, and exciting in their work. Take a look below... Photographer # 1: Christopher Boffoli What an imagination! Seriously, Boffoli has such a playful, interesting eye and I just can't get enough of his work. He's taken dozens of photographs of these small figurines with food, and I think that the way in which he situates them is just genius. He's a writer, photographer, filmmaker, and artist based out of Seattle. I've included a few of my favorites below, but you can peruse all of Boffoli's work on his website, here. Photographer #2: Leah Minium Although this toy animal series is just a small series in Minium's otherwise pretty varied portfolio, these shots caught my eye because they are so simple and beautiful, yet also kind of funny and clever once you figure out what's going on. Her prints are for sale (and are very reasonably priced!) in her Etsy shop and you can view even more of her work on her blog, here. Who knew that little figurines could be so much fun--and so eye-catching? It's all about viewpoint and composition... Enjoy your Wednesday! Namaste, Mary Catherine |
