When I came across Leslie Lewis Sigler's work on Design*Sponge, I knew that I had to share it with you. I love everything about her paintings--the subject matter, the subtle, neutral color palette, the quite tones, the royal, nostalgic feelings that she's captured--I could go on and on. When I look at Sigler's work, I can feel the history associated with the objects that she paints. They feel regal, like they have a story to tell, and the titles that she gives her paintings also hint at ancestral relations and family history: "The Relatives," "Royal Family, "Kinfolk," "The Ancestors." In order to understand why I love Sigler's work so much, I think you just need to see for yourself. So, I've included some of my favorite paintings below... OMG, it's just so good! You can view more of Leslie Lewis Sigler's fabulous paintings (there are many more where these came from!) on her website.
Now, anyone else feel like getting out your finest silver and hosting a tea party? I know I do! [I don't actually have any "fine silver..."]
I love it!! If you ever want to paint some antique utensils and tea service pieces, let me know! I have a lot of "models" for you :-) I hosted a friend's baby shower last year and got to use most of them: http://fete-a-fete.blogspot.com/2012/09/vintage-afternoon-tea-baby-shower-all.html Comments are closed.
