A few weeks ago, I visited The Little Beach Gallery (you may recognize the name, as some of my buoy paintings are being sold there and I've Q&A-ed the owner!), and one of the first things that I saw upon entering the space was an INCREDIBLE painting of an orange life preserver--the kind that you wear on a boat when you're a kid. I immediately asked Jen about the painting--"Who painted this? I am in love! I want it! Ahhhhhh!" The answer to my question/obsession was the name of today's featured artist, Boston + Cape Cod-based Sue Dragoo. Although I couldn't find an image of her life preserver painting on her website (you'll have to go see it in person, I guess!), I've since found that I love many more of Sue's pieces, especially her paintings of clothing on clotheslines and hangers (go figure!). So, since it's 4th of July week and I'm surrounded by beaches and vacationers, I thought who better to feature this week than an artist who paints swimsuits and beach scenes and Cape Cod loveliness? Thus, lets take a look at some AMAZING paintings by the talented Sue Dragoo... The way that she captures light! Her colors! Her backgrounds! Me gusta mucho. And I love it even more that she paints scenes of Cape Cod, my new home and my new love... ;) You can view more amazing works by Sue Dragoo on her website. Or go see her fabulous life preserver (and other paintings) at The Little Beach Gallery. All images in this post are copyrighted by Sue Dragoo. Please do not use any of the above images without getting permission from the artist.
