Today's featured artist, Naomi Wilkinson, is a designer, illustrator and self-described "lover of big colors." When I read this phrase on her blog I thought, "Oh, wow, I'm a 'lover of big colors,' too! Hooray!" And good news, fellow big color lovers, you don't need to look much further than Wilkinson's illustrations to find loads of big colors and wonderfully unique ways of using these colors. Wilkinson's work has a fabulous focus on the geometric, on pattern-making, and on repeating similar shapes in new ways. She uses color combinations that I never would have thought of and her images feel like part-paper collage, part-textile, part-drawing. Just looking at them makes me feel more joyful and more lighthearted, and I think that they'll make you feel the same way... [I had to include the daschund illustration because it's Sayde's favorite.]
If you, too, love Wilkinson's work, you can view more on her website, her blog, and/or purchase a lovely print in her Etsy shop. I'm thinking this print would make a great addition to our home... Here's to a Wednesday full of "big colors!" Comments are closed.
