Eeeeeeee!!! I'm really excited to share today's featured artist! She is so wonderfully unique and talented and WOW (!!). Her name is Stephanie Clark, and as you can see from the image above and the title of this post (which gives it away), Stephanie PAINTS WITH THREAD. Yep, that's right. She uses her sewing machine, embroidery thread, and cloth to create gorgeous embroidered "paintings" of all sorts of dwellings. As you can imagine, since we're smack dab in the middle of the house-hunting/buying process, I'm very drawn to her work right now. Wouldn't one of these pieces be the perfect house-warming gift? I love the little details--the patterned cloth used in the windows, the sketchy, simple rendering of the landscaping surrounding the houses, the lines of color hinting at a lawn or walkway--but I also adore her use of blank space and neutrals, which really makes the colored thread pop. Lets take a look at some of Stephanie's pieces... What do you think? Amazing, right? You can view more of Stephanie's work on her website, her blog, and/or on her Facebook page.
There are so many talented + creative people out there in the world! I'm so glad that we have the internet and blogs to get the word out ;)
