Luscious. That's the word that came to mind when I was trying to think about how I would describe Amy Brnger's paintings. They're colorful, lived-in, and although depicting still life scenes and florals, they have an energy and a light that makes them feel real--textured, touchable, and alive. Her bouquets look freshly-picked, her interiors feel used, and the various textiles and bright subject matter--combined with her thick paint application and decisive, visible brushstrokes--adds an extra energy to her work that makes it jump right off of the page. If you can't tell, I'm a fan ;) I want to crawl into one of her interiors and just sit in the sunlight as it streams through the window (and maybe curl up with a good book in the chair shown above...). You can view some of my favorite paintings by Amy Brnger below: Aren't they divine? I want the painting above ("Garlic Scapes").
To view more of Brnger's fabulous work, check out her portfolio on her website, read her blog (where she posts updates and great painting pics), and/or visit her Etsy shop, where you can purchase very affordable prints and original paintings (woohoo!). Have a luscious Wednesday, everyone ;)

This is one of my favorite artistis that you have featured. I love the sushi prints in her etsy shop as well! I feel so lost on etsy so having some "direction" from your blog in terms of artists is always helpful! Comments are closed.
