As you can see from the work above, today's artist is as unique as they come. His installations merge two completely different worlds (nature and manmade objects) and point out their contrasts, but also their beauty and in some cases, their similarities. On the day after our election, where the country is still divided and emotions run wild, I thought it only appropriate to share some of Rune Guneriussen's work, to emphasize the way in which, despite our differences, we can still come together and create something powerful, something beautiful, something colorful ;) Guneriussen is a Norwegian artist who has been creating installations like the ones pictured above and below since 2005. His work is all made on site in nature (in Norway), and as explained on his website, his focus is the process, the sculpture, and the installation, not necessarily the resulting photographs (although I believe that they're beautiful and totally capture what he's trying to achieve). So, lets take a look at more of his work, shall we? Some of my favorites are below... Yep, I'm a big, big fan. So interesting, so out there, so perfect. My only question is, where does he get all of these objects? And how does he suspend things in midair? I would love to learn more about his process or see some images of him working...
You can check out a lot more of Guneriussen's work on his website, here. Namaste! Mary Catherine Comments are closed.
