It's cold outside. I mean, COLD. And we're not even getting the worst of it here on the Cape (thank Gawd). Midwesterners, I feel for you, I really do (!!!). I cannot even fathom what -20 must feel like, but I heard a fun fact that right now, it's colder in some places in the U.S. than it is on Mars (which is around -32), so there's that ;) Anywho, since it's so frigid out there, I thought it only appropriate that we take a little trip to Hawaii today, to soak up some [imaginary] sunshine + warmth--the kind of warmth that only a well-executed painting can capture--and to take our minds off of the misery that is the current windchill. Today's beautiful paintings are brought to you by Brenda Cablayan, an artist whose website is FULL of scenes of Hawaii, each more tantalizing than the next. I've included a selection of my favorite works by Ms. Cablayan below... Ahhhhhhhh. In the words of Liz Lemon, I want to go to there.
You can view more gorgeous paintings by Brenda Cablayan on her website, or if you're ever in Hawaii, by visiting one of the many Hawaiian galleries that shows her work. Stay warm out there!
Liz
