Ready for one last summery painting fling? Enter the work by Philip Barlow, master of blurring the lines and taking things a bit out of focus, but still rendering them totally beautiful and interesting, nonetheless. When I came across his beachy paintings (a few of my favorites are below), I had to sigh because they reminded me that August, and thus the summer, is almost over. Gone are the days of hanging out on the beach, enjoying the sun, and relaxing, and instead, life will begin to look more like his cityscapes (also pictured below), full of a bit more movement, more hustle and bustle. So before I go on and on with my summer lamenting, lets take a look at his work, shall we? I'm quite enamored, and think you will be, too... Beach Scenes City Scenes Part of me just wants to click a switch that will bring things into focus, yet the other part of me LOVES not knowing--being deprived of the details and just finding beauty in the shapes, colors, and light--which is an impressive feat! This is one talented artist.
