Would you like to enjoy a dose of magical whimsy today? If so, here's a spoonful of Jenny Brown's drawings and collages. They're pretty special. Jenny Brown is a Providence, RI-based artist who collects antique books, papers, and photographs, and uses this ephemera to create "blossoming creatures," which are so wonderfully executed that you forget they don't really exist in the wild. Part flora, part sea-dwelling, part celestial, these sparkly little beings feel very of our world and very otherworldly at the same time, which is an interesting balance to strike (as an artist) and which, I believe, makes them so interesting to look at. You can view a few of my favorites below: Wouldn't you like to see one of these beautiful little creatures floating past you while swimming in the ocean? I would ;)
You can view more of Jenny Brown's work on her website, in her Etsy shop, on her Instagram feed, or on her Facebook page. Hope your day is as magical as these creations! Comments are closed.
