I've never thought that bicycles were as pretty as I do in this moment. I mean, will you look at these bikes!? They're the work of Massachusetts-based artist Donna Baldassari, who I came across while perusing a local gallery a few months ago. As soon as I laid eyes on her work, I knew I must feature her. There is something so meditative and serene about her paintings--they're just as quiet as they are special--but while serene and quiet, they're also quite joyful, which is a wonderful balance for a painting to strike. In her artist's statement, Baldassari says that "[painting] transports me to a peaceful place and renews my spirit." I don't know about you, but when looking at these bicycles, I can tell that putting paint to canvas is her source of renewal. All of the paintings below are currently available at Bowersock Gallery on the Cape and/or Chameleon's Gallery in Newburyport, MA... Oh, I just can't get enough of these bikes! They make me want to hop on mine and take a joyride (with Sayde in the front basket, of course)!
You can view more {AMAZING} work by Baldassari on her website. And if you like these, you should check out her landscapes...#loveatfirstsight. Also, she sent me the sizes, pricing, and gallery info for each of these paintings, so if you're interested in one, feel free to email me and I'll send you all of the deets! Happy biking ;) Comments are closed.
