I've always had a thing for art made out of unconventional materials. When I was in high school I even made these two weird children out of boxes, scrap fabric, and old clothes and put them on various vehicles (a sled and a tricycle) to be displayed in one of our school art shows (I was a weird one!). My friends didn't really get them, but I thought they were great! Sometimes it can be really fun to surprise people by thinking outside of the box... So, when I came across these two artists--creating art out of materials that we wouldn't necessarily think of as art materials--I was blown away. Take a look below... Artist #1: Kyle Bean Bean is a "Brighton-based designer specializing in hand crafted models, set design and art direction." He focuses primarily on installations, window displays, and advertising/editorial work, and he is quite the innovator. A few of his eye-catching pieces are below, but you can view more of his amazingly imaginative work on his website, here. Artist #2: Sayaka Ganz Based out of Fort Wayne, IN, Ganz uses found objects (primarily plastic cutlery, thrift store plastics, findings from yard sales, charity shops, and dust bins) to create amazingly vibrant and life-life sculptures. A few of my favorites are below, but you can view more of her work on her website, here. Pretty cool, right? I'm very impressed and inspired, and it just goes to show that there are no limits on the amount of creativity that is just blossoming out there in the world... Namaste!
