I know, I know. It's been quite a while since I've done a painting update. Sadly, that's because life has been so busy this past month or so that I haven't been able to paint as much as I'd like :( But, I'm hoping to be able to devote quite a bit of time to it in August, as things will slow down for a little while...(until they pick back up with wedding season in September!). Anyways, here's a short and simple painting update, showing what I've accomplished since my last painting post, Breaking Down the Painting Process, in June. As you can see, although I've spent quite a few hours working on the painting over the past month or so, it doesn't look dramatically different from the first picture to the second. That's what happens when you start to add tiny, intricate details to a large painting...things take a loooong time. But it sure is fun adding detail, and it's great to see the ways in which the detail makes objects come alive :) The other thing that I did the last time I was at my studio? Got a bunch of my yoga paintings up on the wall to see how they all look together. Although they're totally jumbled and on a weirdly shaped/full wall, it was nice to see them hanging and to get a feel for the series all together. I'm deciding where I want to take it next... And there you have it! Until Thursday when I start painting again... Have an inspiring and creative day! Namaste, Mary Catherine Comments are closed.
