I have my very first free download for you--yogic iPhone wallpaper! I always think it's super cute when people have personalized phone wallpaper, but I've never had the time or energy to make my own, until now (!). The first wallpaper I chose to make? A simple little pattern with an inspiring yogic mantra layered over it. The mantra is lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu, which means "May all beings everywhere be happy and free. May the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and that freedom for all." Although it's simple, I'm excited about the creation of this little file because it's my very first project made with my new computer/creativity station, Sprout. Have you heard of Sprout? It's pretty amazing and it's made my creative life SO much easier (more on how I've been using it for my art/business next week!). In the meantime, here's how I was able to make this wallpaper using just my finger and the Sprout touch mat: First, I unpacked my Sprout and set it up in my studio, as shown above. I felt very legit replacing my little laptop with this serious workstation ;) Next, once I'd played around a bit with using both the stylus and my finger to write on the touchpad (which is SO easy!), I used the stylus to create my background pattern. Sprout makes it so easy to change colors, line style, and thickness, that it's basically like having a full arsenal of drawing materials right in front of you while you work. Once I'd created the background, I wrote the words using my finger, and then resized them (as shown in the pics below). After that, all I had to do was save as a jpg, resize for iPhone screens, and voila! Pretty amazing little [er, big] computer, right? Can't wait to work on all the rest of the projects that I have planned... In the meantime, you can put this fun little wallpaper to use, too!
