This week, I've been feeling a WHOLE LOT of love for my yoga hOMe, Tranquil Space. Tuesday marked exactly 3 years since the very first time that I stepped foot into the studio, and that chance encounter with this one space totally changed the direction of my life. I feel so grateful for the entire TS yoga community (or as we call it around here, cOMmunity), as all of my students, teachers, and peers have played a HUGE role in my growth, transformation, and overall happiness over the past three years in DC.
This morning, while sitting in the empty, but light-filled studio after waking up early to teach the 6:45 am class, I was once again overwhelmed with a sense of joy for being able to do what I do--my days are filled with movement, positive energy, wonderful people, and deep breathing--who would have predicted this 3 years ago? Certainly not this girl. So, after the studio cleared out, I spent a few minutes trying to capture some of my favorite images from inside of this sacred space (thus, the pictures above). I hope they bring you as much of a sense of relaxation as they do for me (can you believe that my workspace makes me feel relaxed? It's crazy!). I'll close with a portion of the reading that I shared in class this morning, as it felt like a really important reminder to share today: "Attention is the most concrete expression of love. What we pay attention to thrives. What we do not pay attention to withers and dies. What will you pay attention to today?" -Karen Maizen Miller I'm working on paying less attention to the details, or the nitty gritty to-dos of each day, and instead, am working to focus on the big picture. Sometimes zooming out makes a world of a difference when life gets hectic... What will you pay attention to today? Namaste, Mary Catherine 10/4/2012 04:30:36 pm
