Oh, today? I've just been painting my heart out :) And it was all about taking some time for myself--to paint what I want to paint and to have some fun! I have two more commissions to start next week, so in between finishing the illustrations for Tranquilolgie (which I tied a bow on this morning!) and getting started on these works, I thought I would just take some time to play and experiment. And play, I did! Using some of the new vintage paper goods that I picked up at a flea market last weekend, I allowed myself to be inspired by the materials--mainly the chapter and page titles from vintage books--and went to town. Here's a glimpse at my idea of going wild (I'm crazy, I know!) on my painting day... And of course, because no day of painting would be complete without some paintings of a dress or two, I decided to do a few quick sketches on the following pages from a vintage book...I LOVE the old text and chapter titles! Sorry for the fuzzy, crooked pictures, but I think I was so excited that I was shaking the camera ;)
Nothing like a day dedicated solely to creativity! Nothing. Can't wait to finish these paintings next week... Namaste, Mary Catherine Comments are closed.
