Today has been very strange, hasn't it? For those of us who live in Sandy's path, today has been a somewhat ominous waiting game. We've gotten stocked up on food, water, and batteries, we've taken our last yoga classes (there were 39 people in my noon class today--very brave souls, indeed!), we've tried to handle any last-minute emails and/or work issues, and finally, we've holed up in our homes and apartments, candles and books ready, news reports on, and we wait. I understand that there are already 30,000 people in the DC area without power, and I'm not surprised, as I listen to the wind whistle outside the windows and watch the trees thrash back & forth across the street. Scary stuff!
So, in case we do lose power tonight and I can't blog again for another day or two--which is very likely, given what's happened in our area in the past--I wanted to wish all of you a very safe night and next couple of days. If you do lose power but are able to remain at home, I encourage you to use this time as a chance to relax, if you can. Read by candlelight. Snuggle up with a blanket and listen to the rain. Have a glass of wine and sit on the couch with a loved one. Do legs up the wall, wearing an eye pillow, and get lost in the moment. Might as well, right? In the words of Alison Krauss, bring on the rain... (as long as no one gets hurt!). Namaste, Mary Catherine Comments are closed.
