Now that the holidays are over (phew!), I can finally share some of my recent commissions with you! Yay! As you know, I've spent the last few months painting away, trying to get all of these special orders completed in time for winter birthdays, events, and Christmas, so it's wonderful to finally be able to post images of what I've been working on. It was hard keeping everything secret for so long! There are a few more recent paintings that still haven't been gifted to their recipients yet, so I'll share those as soon as they've been opened, but until then, these 10 paintings should tide us over ;) I've included a little note about each commission below the image, as I think it's always nice to know the story behind the painting... [Cat painting above: A gift from a son & daughter to their mother. This was their family cat, Dandelion, who passed away earlier this year :( The items in the image were some of her favorite toys/things to play with. Oil on canvas.] Above: A nursery gift for a sister-in-law. The baby is on the way, and her name is Celeste (which is also the name of Babar's wife, and the person he names "Celesteville" after!). Acrylic on canvas. Above: A couple commissioned this as a gift for each other--these are obviously their two ADORABLE dogs :) Watercolor on paper. Above: A December birthday gift from a husband to his wife. She's a total yogi, so he had me paint her meditating with her sweet dog next to her. As a couple, they love to travel, so the monuments that surround her are images from some of their recent (and favorite) trips. Mixed media on canvas. Above: A gift from a woman to her partner--a very special, symbolic message from a moment that they shared together in Sante Fe, earlier this fall. Acrylic on canvas. Above: A gift from a wife to her husband, obviously a portrait of their "daughter." When I sent her images of the painting in-progress, she said that she showed them to her dog, Autumn, for approval, and that Autumn loved them. How cute is that? Oil on canvas. Above: A winter baby shower gift from one sister to another. The sister is a yogi who loves cats, and the shower had a lavender color scheme. Meant to be a playful--yet soothing--addition to the nursery. Mixed media on mounted panel. Above: Gift for a man who enjoys a good Manhattan [from Circa in Clarendon!]. Watercolor on paper.
Can you believe the variety of the paintings above?
This is why I love painting commissions--every one is different, every painting has a unique story, and they're so personal, so meaningful, so special. Thank you to all of you out there who have recently commissioned a painting! I hope these works of art bring you/your loved one(s) joy for many years to come...

Thank you SO much again for the painting of Dandelion, MC! My mom absolutely loves it and already has it hanging in the dining room. You are so talented and captured her spirit so well!

These are all fantastic! Of course I'm biased and think the one of my Autumn is the best ;-) but I also love the yogi one and the gymnast, and of course the other pets. You are so talented! I will definitely commission another painting from you in the future (not of Autumn next time haha).
