Just wanted to take a quick break from my first cleaning/packing day (my second break of the day--the other was to meet a friend for a 2 hr. pedi in the neighborhood!) to wish my Dad, and all of the other wonderful dads out there, a happy Father's Day. My Dad is an extremely important part of my life, so although I do feel that these days (Mother's, Father's, and Valentines Day, for that matter) are a *bit* manufactured by Hallmark, I still think it's great to have a special day set aside to acknowledge and appreciate everything he does/has done for me. I also feel very lucky to have had SUCH a strong, male role-model in my life as I was growing up (I know, kind of sounds like psycho-babble, but I really do feel this way!), so I'm always happy to have a chance to thank my Dad :) Here's one of my favorite pictures of him holding me when I was a baby... Isn't it weird to see pictures of your parents when they were young? My Dad was just a few years older than I am now when they had me...
So have you taken some time to send some love to your father or father-figure today? Even if he is no longer around, today is a great day to just spend some time appreciating, remembering, and/or honoring your father... Thanks for being so amazing, Dad! Namaste, Mary Catherine Comments are closed.
