We're done [for now] with our guest bedroom! Our first out-of-town guests arrive tomorrow, so we finished just in the nick of time. There are still many things we'd like to do to this room--including replace the rug, paint the trim, buy new furniture, etc.--but we feel better now that we've gotten it to a place where it's a bit more presentable and is worthy of housing my BFF + her BF this weekend ;) Although it's hard to tell in some of the pics (due to the weird lighting in this room), we went from a rather ugly darkish light blue (not a fan of the shade, which is also in our bedroom and my painting studio) to a light grey. We replaced the falling apart, navy blue curtains with bright coral ones (a decision that I made after coming home with white curtains and feeling like the room needed a pop of color), and hung some art on the walls. The bed still needs some throw pillows and I'd like to paint the furniture in the room until we can buy replacements, but like I said, it's good enough for now...just don't open the closet door--it's *kind of* broken ;) Lets take a look at the process of re-doing this room, shall we? BEFORE MOVE-IN:AFTER MOVE-IN:PAINTING DAY:AFTER!And that's it! Kelly + Andrew, we're ready for you ;)
Up next (after our guests + my trip to Peru next week...)? Our bedroom. It's a hot mess so it should be fun/challenging!
