Well, I'm done. This morning I did my 100th headstand in the last 100 days and it felt great. Have I learned a lot? Yes. Am I extremely comfortable coming into a headstand once again? Yes. Am I sick of the pose? Um, I would be lying if I didn't say yes, just a little bit. But it was totally worth it and now I know the power of practicing one pose over and over on a daily basis (especially when it's a pose that you're working on!). Another thing that I've loved about doing this self-imposed challenge has been coming into a headstand in so many different places. Everywhere that I've been in the last 100 days? I've also done a headstand there :) Plus, I've completely shaken off all of my old anxieties surrounding the pose (read here for why I had issues with headstand!). Counting off 100 days in your life is also an amazing way to track how much can happen and how things can change during this time period. I took a look back and was pretty amazed by the results. So here's a quick glimpse at what else has happened in my life over the past 100 days: -Applied to and started Advanced Teacher Training -Got engaged (!) -Went on a trip to Stockbridge, MA -Moved to Arlington, VA -My brother & his GF came to visit -Taught first Level 1 Teacher Training at Tranquil Space Arlington -Visited BFF in Chicago -Experienced my first earthquake -My Dad did a headstand & finally started practicing yoga at a studio after much prodding from yours truly (and he's hooked! Practicing 3-4 times per week!) -Took a week-long trip to Cape Cod & attended 2 weddings (Weddingpalooza 2011) -Went to Squam, an Art Workshop in NH Exciting 100 days, huh? And to think, I kept doing headstands through it all (except when I hit my head on a dumpster, of course). ![]() Photo via goodatlife.wordpress.com So what's next? I've decided that I'd like to do this again, but with another pose. I'm thinking handstand or forearm stand (eek!?)...but want to give myself a week or two off to think about it. 100 days is a big commitment! My challenge to you? Do something similar! Even if it's on a smaller scale, like 25 days--pick a pose that you struggle with and start doing it once per day, every day, and see how your relationship with it transforms. I promise, it's fun :) Have a wonderful day! Namaste, Mary Catherine
