In this week's episode of Starr Struck Radio's mom-centric season, Mary Catherine and Sara discuss the horrors of sleep regressions, their own personal experiences with them (including recent issues!), how to get through them, and why middle-of-the-night wakings are so freaking hard to deal with. As mentioned in the show, if you want to share a #MOMFAIL to be read aloud on a future episode, shoot me an email. As promised, if we think your #momfail is grosser/worse than the one that I shared in our first episode, I'll send you a free yoga tank ;)
Lastly, here are the links we mentioned in the show:
Oh, and as promised at the end of the episode, here's an update on my/our recent sleep horrors: They seem to be over. After a little over a week of puking at bedtime, I decided to break Charlie Mae's bedtime routine and change things up and it worked. She has now been going to bed easily and sleeping through the night for about 10 days straight. Phew. I'll share more details on the next episode of the show ;) You can view all past Starr Struck Radio episodes and get answers to FAQs on the podcast homepage. Thanks for listening!
We're back with another episode of Starr Struck Radio's new mom-centric 4th Season! In this week's show Sara and I discuss our personal experiences with the ways in which childbirth and childrearing can wreak havoc on your body and ruin it forever (only half-kidding). We also discuss our SJOTW and anti-SJOTW + our recent mom-wins and #momfails.

In this brand-spanking new season of Starr Struck Radio, the show is a-changing and it's becoming momma-fied (I know, I cringed when I wrote that but I couldn't help it!)!
As you know, Ben quit on me at the end of last season (lame!) but luckily I was able to talk my good friend, Starr Struck colleague, former SSR guest, and fellow mom (much more experienced mom, I should add), Sara Meeks to join me as my new co-host. Yay! So, this week's episode is our first of many mom-centric episodes in this new season of the show. Our goal for Season #4 is to share the anti-highlight reel/anti-Instagram version of being a mom. We think that being a parent leads to the best + hardest days of our lives, and we want to talk about the nitty gritty that goes into those days. Thus, in each episode of this season, Sara and I will have an honest conversation about a specific topic related to being a mom and will try our best to be as real and raw as possible (which won't always be pretty). But today’s episode is different from the rest of this season because instead of discussing a specific topic, we're introducing our mom-selves and giving you some background info about each of our lives and families so that you have some context for the topics that we’re going to tackle in future episodes. You can listen to this week's episode below OR by downloading and/or subscribing in iTunes or Stitcher (be sure you search "Starr Struck Radio").
As mentioned in the show, if you want to share #MOMFAIL to be read aloud on a future episode (we're happy to omit your name if you want us to, haha!), shoot me an email. And as promised, if we think your #momfail is grosser/worse than the one that I share at the end of this episode, I'll send you a free yoga tank ;)

Thanks for listening! I'm so excited that Starr Struck Radio is officially back ;)
I know it's a little late, but here it is: the follow-up/bonus episode of Starr Struck Radio that I promised our listeners over a year ago!
This past week (while he was off of work) I *finally* convinced Ben to sit down with me one last time to record a final podcast as a couple--this one all about our thoughts on our first year of being parents. We discuss the biggest surprises, challenges, and joys of parenting over the past year, and of course, share a few random stories and laughs along the way. Also, at the end of the episode, I reveal the future of Starr Struck Radio...which will be coming back for a new season starting in October, but will be very different. You can listen to this week's episode below OR by downloading and/or subscribing in iTunes or Stitcher (be sure you search "Starr Struck Radio").
Oh, and here are the blog posts mentioned in today's episode:
Thank you SO much for listening and for being patient as we took our time recording this last episode together...
Last night, after a few weeks of cajoling, I *finally* convinced Ben to join me for a special bonus episode of Starr Struck Radio (!!!). No, he has not committed to coming back next season (sigh), but he has committed to joining me at least once more after our baby girl comes to talk about being a parent/new parenthood, so at least that's something...
That being said, here's today's episode! It's obviously all about the third trimester of pregnancy and how we're feeling during our baby's "due week." This episode is meant to be the third (or really, fourth) in a series all about becoming parents. Scroll down (below the podcast link) to find links to the past three episodes in this series--and if you haven't listened to them yet, you might want to start from the beginning and listen to them in order, saving this one for last ;) You can listen to this week's episode below OR by downloading and/or subscribing in iTunes or Stitcher (be sure you search "Starr Struck Radio").

Welcome to the last episode of Season #3 of Starr Struck Radio!
If you listened to last week’s episode, you’ll know that Ben has proclaimed that this episode will be his last (although he has promised to return for an episode about the third trimester and one episode post-baby to update all of you on how we’re doing...). Sigh. So, this week we discuss the past 17 months of podcasting together--what it’s been like, what we've learned, why Ben wants to "retire" from Starr Struck Radio, and more. You can listen below OR by downloading and/or subscribing in iTunes or Stitcher (be sure you search "Starr Struck Radio").

As I mention in the show, I'm not sure when SSR will be back after this extended summer + baby break, but it will be back in some form in late 2016/early 2017. Stay tuned... ...And if you haven't already done so, be sure you subscribe to SSR wherever you listen to your podcasts so that you can get notified when we pop-in for our non-seasonal episodes {and eventually come back for good!}.
This week's episode is a doozy. It starts with Ben dropping a bomb right at the beginning of the show, and it goes *slightly* off the rails from there...but, here we are: The Second Trimester.
This episode is obviously a pregnancy update and a follow-up to Episode 39: The First Trimester. Just like our last pregnancy check-in, we use this episode to discuss how we’re feeling and what’s going on at this stage in the process. Yes, it veers towards couples therapy for a few minutes near the end, but what can we say? We're a couple talking about our feelings on a podcast every week--it's bound to happen every once in a while! We appreciate your sticking with us through all of our ups-and-downs ;) You can listen below OR by downloading and/or subscribing in iTunes or Stitcher (be sure you search "Starr Struck Radio").

In this week's episode, we're talking self-improvement and personal growth: we discuss the importance of self-improvement--or self-help, self-study, continuing education (whatever you want to call it)--and what can happen if you overdose on self-improvement, or at the other end of the spectrum, don’t continue to challenge yourself or focus on learning + growing enough.
Obviously, as with everything, there’s a balance, so we discuss what this balance looks like and enjoy a few laughs while doing so ;) You can listen below OR by downloading and/or subscribing in iTunes or Stitcher (be sure you search "Starr Struck Radio").

This week, if you can’t tell from the episode title, we’re overwhelmed. Both of us. So, we talk about overwhelm, being an adult, and how life, work, + household responsibilities can become pretty overwhelming at times--especially when you’re gearing up for a big life change.
We start the show by talking about the dentist and birthdays, and then delve into the topic of overwhelm and what it means to us right now. If nothing else, we hope that this episode makes our fellow overwhelmed-ers feel less alone! You can listen below OR by downloading and/or subscribing in iTunes or Stitcher (be sure you search "Starr Struck Radio").

Surprise, surprise, we're talking about technology again! And relationships! Two of our favorite subjects...
This week we talk about how we've seen our devices (specifically our phones) negatively impacting our relationship as of late. We share some examples from our day-to-day life that demonstrate how technology can cause issues for a couple, we discuss how technology can both help and hurt relationships over the long-haul, and then close by sharing some ideas for ways that couples can get better at using their technology mindfully so that their relationship doesn’t suffer because of it. As Ben proclaims at the end of the show, "good episode!" And while he obviously thinks so, I hope you agree ;) You can listen below OR by downloading and/or subscribing in iTunes or Stitcher (be sure you search "Starr Struck Radio").
