![]() I know that this blog is a yoga/art/creativity blog, but sometimes I just have to share other events in my life that have nothing to do with these topics, just because I think they're funny or interesting (see my moving and "pizza for one" posts). Yesterday, I experienced one of these "interesting" events. So, in no particular order, I'd like to share some things that I learned, felt, and observed at the U.S. Open yesterday. Backstory: Ben LOVES golf. He bought tickets to the U.S. Open Practice Round at Congressional months ago, thinking one of his golf-loving friends or family members would go with him. When no one else could go, he invited me (he was smooth, though, acting like I wasn't his last choice), and I agreed to go (I too, was smooth, acting like I really wanted to go, hehe!). I DID have fun, and it was actually a really pretty day spent outside (yippee!), but I also did feel just a *bit* out of my element at a golf event. Examples are below...
Me: Will you take a picture with me here? Ben: No. (30 minutes later) Me: Lets take a picture in front of this! Ben: No. (1 hour later) Me: You promised you'd take a picture with me! Can we take it now? Ben: No. (Etc. It just continues..) So here's the resulting picture: Truly! This was the first try, when Ben said "no" but I still tried to take it. But later on we did get this one :) Similarly, although I did learn a lot about golf and golf tournaments yesterday, I also learned some things about myself:
Now do you understand? Again, I really did have fun, but mainly because I was spending time outside (at a beautiful place) with Ben on a Tuesday--and also because it was a fun social experiment and I had a good time people-watching :) Have a fabulous Wednesday! Namaste, Mary Catherine P.S. I'm not really a hippie, but compared to these people, I definitely was. So I went with that title for the post :)
