So lets get right to it, shall we? What were your simple, sensory pleasures this week? Mine are below...
HEAR: "Common Threads" by Bobby McFerrin
This month's savasana song, shared with me by my dad (who always knows good yoga music when he hears it!), consists of ONLY Bobby McFerrin's voice--no instruments--and it's simply gorgeous. It gets in my head after every class and I find it to be extremely calming and nurturing. You can listen below:
After hearing about this show and how much I would love it for YEARS, Ben and I have finally gotten into it (as I mentioned last week). We're completely hooked after only a few episodes, and I'm already looking forward to tonight, when we've planned to watch a few more. Nothing like getting into a good new series, is there!?
TASTE: Vigilant Eats Superfood Cereal
This cereal (pictured above), is the easiest healthfood snack ever. It's Organic, Gluten Free, Non GMO, Vegan, and Kosher, and somehow, it's also super tasty. The fabulous people over at Vigilant Eats sent me some samples, which I've been enjoying this week, and are also offering my readers $15 off of your purchase if you use the code "StarrStruck" at checkout :) Enjoy!
SMELL: Aura Cacia Bath Salts
So, I hadn't taken a bath in forever, and finally got a chance to take one this week. It. Was. Divine. It had been so long that I had forgotten how much I love baths!?! Plus, with the addition of bath salts, it was even more relaxing and felt like I was truly pampering myself. I need to add more baths back into my rotation...thanks to my sweet friends for gifting me with these salts waaaayy back around the wedding!
TOUCH: Spin Class
Until Wednesday, it had been about 3 years since I'd taken a spin class. But, after wanting to do so for months, I finally got a chance to go to my friend's class this week, and it was awesome. Now I'm trying to figure out how I can make more time in my schedule to get back to spinning regularly--even if it's just once per week. It's such a fun workout and I need a little more sweaty cardio in my life ;)
Other simple pleasures from the past week? Finally getting a haircut (feels so much better!), lots of household organization, getting back to regular CrossFit classes, painting, and of course, lots of yummy yoga.
I hope your (long?) weekend is full of the simple joys in life. Don't forget to take the time to stop and appreciate them!
Namaste,
Mary Catherine
