Today's featured artist, Kim Preston, has an "unashamed determination to make the world a better place" through her photography. This series,"Pacific Plastic," which I am completely blown away by, "explores the devastating impact of plastics accumulation in our oceans by transforming everyday household objects into the sea creatures choking to death in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch."

So yes, if you can believe it, the image above is a photograph of plastic gloves, not an amazing sea creature photographed up-close and personal (pretty sad, isn't it?).

The other incredible photographs from this series are below:
The only thing I wish Preston had done differently? Included more images in this series! It makes SUCH a powerful statement--especially when you learn more about the horrors of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch (very scary).

The world needs more artists like Kim Preston, wouldn't you agree? You can view more of her fabulous work on her website, here

Namaste,
Mary Catherine

anything that can be done to make people aware that the little things like using a straw when not necessary or getting a to go plastic bag really do add up in a big way and have a negative impact on everyone's life on the planet

reduce reduce reduce reuse then recycle
