I remember that as the summer drew closer last year, I began to be drawn to art that conveyed summery and outdoorsy themes, without even realizing it... Surprisingly enough, I see that once again, it's beginning to happen this year--starting with the work of Leah Giberson, who I found on Etsy recently and completely fell in love with. She does these amazingly realistic, yet somehow still very painterly, images of Americana--lawn chairs, campers and RVs, swimming pools, and family homes. I enjoy all of her work for many different reasons, but I especially like her chair paintings. I see them as being like portraits, but without any people in them (and I think that they have a lot of character!). What do you think?

Take a look at some of her amazing work below, and see if you agree with me...
Beautiful, no? I want one--must have one!

You can buy prints of Giberson's work in her Etsy shop, peruse her entire portfolio on her website, and learn more about her daily life on her blog. She's quite the plugged-in artist! I love that in a modern creative ;)

Have an inspiring day!

Namaste,
Mary Catherine
